The Story behind the GT-GF is a good one. If you didn't know the GF is for girlfriend. The mod features Sabien (Mees's girlfriend) and Chiara (Teo's girlfriend). Check out this quick interview with Sabien about the process and how the mod came about.
Let’s start with the basics.
What’s your name and where are you from?
Hee Jake, my name is Sabien and I’m from Leidennnnn Netherlands!
How long have you been doing Bien’s Designs?
Hmmmmmm I started drawing on my iPad 2 years ago. In November 2025 I started my beans insta account. And right now I’m working on perfecting my website!
You have a certain style that is super unique to you.
The characters alway seem so relaxed and chill.
Where do you think this style comes from? What are some of your inspirations?
Oeh I think I get most of my inspiration from kids. I love how they draw. Almost every kid has drawn a little person with just a head, arms and legs (koppoters, as we dutchies call them or at least I do haha). When I first got my iPad, I started with those :) since then most of the little people I make have a more realistic body haha, but I still really like the simple drawings.

How did the GT-GF happen?
What’s the story behind the mod?
Haha yeah soooo I went with you on a team film day in Leiden, just drinking my coffee and sitting on the ground when you said “ if you can land a whirlwind in a year (before EKC 2025) you can get your own mod” and then Teo said that Chiara would kill you haha. Soooo you made it a competition. Whoever landed the whirlwind first, the other one could design the Kendama. We decided it would be much nicer if we did it together. I think we showed you us landing the whirlwind together and then we started designing I thinkkk!
I LOVE the frogs.
Tell us about working with Chiara and the moment you two thought of the frog concept? It’s so perfect!
Chiara came up with the frogs. We both love green so we decided early on that it needed to be green and I really wanted a simple design, not to much going on.
I started with just frogs and then we came up with the idea of making them look like us!
What do you think kendama needs more of in terms of design?
Ooh that’s a hard question. More silly designs hehe, let your children designs some tama’s I’d looooove that :)
